  Lovely pub. Kind of feels like a traditional pub as the food is generous home cooked rather than gastro style reasonably priced too. Good choice of well kept beers. Only complaint is they only had Thatcher's Gold on no other decent cider's. This pub is quite small so worth booking if wanting to eat during busy periods.

  My husband and I decided to go out for a spur of the moment anniversary meal and rang several restaurants we had previously visited only to be told no or got no answer to our call, we then thought of a place we pass regularly on our way home from Exeter but had not visited since it had been taken over. The lady who answered was so lovely and put herself out to try to find a way of getting us a table, they were busy as it was steak night, (two rump steaks with all the trimmings and a bottle of wine or two drinks for £24.00.) We were not disappointed when we arrived, the meals were really well cooked, very tasty and large potions, staff and atmosphere were fabulous. We will definitely be returning and will book in advance next time.

  The food was AMAZING!!!!!! And the owners are absolutely lovely, we sat by the fire place and the owner put it on for us. I know I've already said the food was Amazing but I grew up in a hotel and my sister is a Michelin star chef and how this place doesn't have one is beyond me...someone needs to get down there and give them a star!

  Amazing food and lovely atmosphere. Didn't bat an eyelid at a hyper 4 year old despite being busy. Best meal we've had in a long time!!!

  The atmosphere, service and food were all awesome. At 5pm on a Tuesday it was a quiet, but not empty, well run pub in a scenic location just a few minutes out of town.
